Agility Through Basic Obedience Training

Off-Leash Dog Training:

Freedom to let your dog off-leash on hikes, at parks, or at the beach requires a responsive and obedient dog. Our Off-Leash Dog Training will train your dog to promptly respond to commands, even when they’re not at your side.

Classical Conditioning Training:

Classical Conditioning Training replaces negative behaviors with positive ones when the dog encounters an external stimulus. This training helps dogs become confident and trustful when their owner is present.

Why Obedience Training is Essential

What age can a dog start obedience training?

The earlier, the better. Puppies are welcome! That being said, old dogs truly can learn new tricks - there is no reason an older dog can’t learn basic commands.

What issues will obedience training address

Besides basic commands, dog obedience training can address issues such as chewing, whining or barking, jumping to greet others, and begging for food.

Why in-home training

In-home training is necessary because it allows trainers to focus on the particular issues of individual dogs (like terrorizing a pet cat or chasing the mailman). During in-home training sessions trainers also work side by side with owners and any other family members so the dog understands who is in control.

I’ve had a great experience with Craig while training Cairo. While training can be challenging since Cairo has a huge puppy brain, Craig has helped to teach and provide the resources needed to ensure Cairo’s obedience and ability to the service dog test. Cairo is an extra large puppy that is mixed with Cane Corso, German Shepherd, and Husky so it is extra important in choosing a trainer that can help you breakthrough barriers that may be associated with breeds that have a bit more attitude (or are drama queens like Cairo lol). Craig is patient and knowledgeable and makes training a fun process!

I can’t say enough good things about Dog Training Elite! My dog used to eat everything she could find, and I was constantly worried about her safety. We have a female Corgy and started training at about 5-6 months old. She was a rescue so we had little knowledge about her parents, she is now just over a year old and become an excellent pup. We did need at home sessions with Craig but she took well to the training almost instantaneously. She is still a bit reactive in specific scenarios but is now under control. While we have had plenty of dogs in the past, this was our first Belgian and we’re glad we got professional help early…her drive, energy, and want to work are amazing but needed some guidance and control.
